Interview with a Vampire(1993)

A night scene with Tom Cruise riding on horseback through the village with extras all around the houses. The Laurel Valley Village doubled as the slave quarters for Oak Alley which was his plantation home in the film.


Ray (2004)

A movie about the life of Ray Charles. Starring Jamie Foxx as Ray. One of the shotgun style homes was modified and used as Ray’s childhood home in small town rural Georgia.


The Butler (2013)

Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey, story about a butler who served 8 American presidents over the course of 3 decades.


Many other films, made for tv movies and commercials have used the village and property for filming. The three listed here are the most well known of the bunch. Most recently the Netflix original film The Highwaymen (2019) starring Woody Harrelson & Kevin Costner used the property for a scene.
